Oat and honey pancakes are a wholesome, hearty twist on traditional pancakes, offering a perfect blend of nutty oats and natural sweetness from honey. The oats add a satisfying texture, while the honey infuses the pancakes with a gentle, warm flavor. Directions

  1. Step 1.

Preheat and grease: Lightly grease and preheat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat. The surface should be hot but not smoking, about 375°F (190°C).

  2. Step 2.

Add water: Pour the required amount of water into the Whiskware Batter Mixer.

  3. Step 3.

Add dry ingredients: Add the Krusteaz Pancake Mix and rolled oats to the Batter Mixer.

  4. Step 4.

Shake thoroughly: Secure the lid on the Batter Mixer and shake vigorously until the batter is smooth and well-combined, about 20-30 seconds. Ensure no lumps remain.

  5. Step 5.

Test griddle heat: Drop a small amount of water onto the hot griddle. If it sizzles and evaporates immediately, the griddle is ready.

  6. Step 6.

Dispense batter: Dispense the batter onto the preheated griddle, forming pancakes of your desired size (about 1/4 cup of batter per pancake for regular-sized pancakes).

  7. Step 7.

Cook until bubbles form: Let the pancakes cook for 2-3 minutes, or until bubbles form and the edges begin to look set.

  8. Step 8.

Flip: Gently flip the pancakes once the bubbles have popped and the underside is golden brown.

  9. Step 9.

Cook until golden: Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes on the other side until the pancakes are golden brown and cooked through.

  10. Step 10.

Top and serve: Remove the pancakes from the griddle, and top with a generous drizzle of honey. Serve warm.

Recipe Note

You'll notice that you'll need to add more water than is listed on the Krusteaz packaging. This is just to compensate for the oats! If you want softer oats, prepare your batter the night before and let your mix sit in the fridge overnight.
